Once Upon a Time. When I Used to Rhyme.
Trill or Not Trill?

Growing up, much like today, everybody rapped or at least tried. From basement studios to high school locker rooms people were spittin. Everyone out there had a bar  or 2 or 16. I was certainly part of that movement. My rap name was”El Prezidente.” Remind me to share the origin story later.

My students never believe I used to rap. Even after I hit them with that FIRRRRREEEE freestyle the speculation in their eyes remain. They inspired me to release Bars by MrJeffDess. I’ll be using this space to flashback to my younger days of rapping as well as a few attempts to dust of the microphone with some new ish! New ish! (Do people still refer to music as “new ish?”)

In today’s edition of Bars by MrJeffDess, I present to you All Soul’d Out.

This was my likely the last track I ever recorded with this talented group of producers out of Long Island. They were 3 guys known as AFRO Productions and we had tons of fun in the studio rocking out. All Soul’d Out was all about me reminiscing to my younger days of growing up in Jamaica, Queens. There are a lot of Queens references throughout. Shout out to the Colosseum Mall.  I wish I could give you the exact date but I believe this song is about 10 years old.

Fun Fact: This was the first song I ever cursed in
Favorite Line: Reminisce before the bling. Before every other rapper thought they could sing
Groupies Gained from this song: 0

Let me know if you think this is trill or not?
