Jamie Foxx Plays the Role of A Real Hero
This is not a new movie where Jamie Foxx plays himself saving a man from a burning car. Not only is this epic (given the Oscar boycotts) but it simply shows leaders can come from any direction. On the evening of January 18, 2016 a car crashed, rolled over and caught on fire in front of the Oscar winner’s house and he jumped into action. Let’s look at the things Jamie Foxx can teach leaders about being a real life HERO.
3 Trill Things About This
Jump into the Fire:
As a leader people will always look for you in battle. As the car crashed by Jamie Foxx’s house he could of easily picked up the phone, call 911, and watched from the window. Instead Foxx sprung into action and went to the rescue. As a leader do not be afraid to take risks in helping others. Don’t do things simply for the accolades. Your greatness as a leader may be overlooked but trust and believe someone is watching from afar. As Jamie said it best, “Met the father of the young man from last night, today. This is all that matters. That a man, a son, a brother’s life was spared last night. God had his arms wrapped around all of us…No heroes…Just happy fathers.” Do it for the cause not the fame!”
Sometimes being a leader can intimidate others. Do not be afraid to show empathy and sympathy to a situation in which you can help. Jamie saved a random man that was a brother and son. Do not be afraid to give that extra dollar as a donation to a club/organization, to that homeless man or a location dealing with tragedy. Something that may seem small to you could be a major deal to others. The fathers reaction to meeting Jamie was priceless. It wasn’t about his star power, just the willingness to save his son.
I remember as a kid my mom would stress giving back. As Jamie did with the victim cut the seat belt to remove restriction; stop restricting yourself from those that are less fortunate. As a leader, be willing to pay it forward. Jamie will not receive any money from this but this will remind celebrities and other that life is precious no matter the your status. Extend that olive branch to companies like united way, Salvation Army and others to support giving back. Empty that closet and help those during the brutal winter season.
That’s all folks!
