Syracuse University

The challenge
Syracuse University’s Residential staff was looking to train over 100 of their staff members and student leaders on being better prepared to handle issues on diversity, inclusion, and racial equity.
The Work
Trill Or Not Trill curated a two day training for both staff and students. Presentations included topics such as Allyship, Decolonization, Bias and Inclusion, Coalition Building and more. Additionally, Trill Or Not Trill developed a comprehensive resource E-guide, including over 100 resources, activities, dialogue prompts, poems and more for all participants to keep.
Additional Information
I felt like Trill or not Trill was extremely effective and really helped show POCs and non POCs the struggle and acknowledging the problem society has. Out of 3 years of RA training- for both fall and winter training- this was by far the BEST session I have attended, learned the most, and will retain the most; I can not emphasize this enough. I think the OSL department made a good choice picking these speakers and should seriously consider rehiring them or bring them back for the future years. It was very effective online-
Student
The Trill or Not Trill series, as every single RA can probably attest to, was the most effective part of training. The speakers provided amazing engagement sessions. Programs like theirs makes the content easier to consume.
